PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for drying timber, in which a timber can be efficiently and economically dried, and the timber can be dried easily in a uniform quality with an aimed water-content, moreover the timber can be continuously dried one by one or in a plurality of pieces. SOLUTION: In drying a timber W, the timber is subjected to an internally heating process 20 for heating from the inside by induction heating, and an externally heating process 30 for heating from its outside by a heating medium. The timber undergoes at least each one process in the above order.
