A spherical grinding apparatus is provided to grind a spherical surface accurately regardless of size of a sphere by increasing generality, to contain lubricant by forming crossed grinding patterns in the surface of the sphere, and to reduce wear of a grindstone without additionally dressing while grinding. A spherical grinding apparatus is composed of a chuck fixing a work piece(11), a grindstone(33) and a grinder turning part(30) turning around a rotating pin(32) placed in a spherical center of the work piece. The grinder turning part is composed of a transfer screw and a transfer handle(38) moving the cylindrical grindstone and a grinding motor(35) back and forth, and a hydraulic cylinder rotating the grinder turning part. The cutting depth is adjusted by the transfer handle, and the grinder turning part is turned around the rotating pin by operating the hydraulic cylinder. The center of rotation of the work piece is checked and fixed, and the grindstone is moved into the surface of the work piece by turning the transfer handle. The grindstone is contacted to the work piece by driving the grinding motor and adjusting the transfer handle.
