PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic TFT having high carrier mobility in which the molecular weight can be rationalized, a film can be formed from solution, and an element can be fabricated inexpensively with a large area by printing method, ink jet method, or the like. SOLUTION: In the organic thin film transistor, the organic semiconductor material principally comprises a polymer having a repeating unit shown by formula (I) and weight average molecular weight Mw of 20,000 or above. In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>represent a halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group or alkylthio group, and R<SP>3</SP>represents a group selected from other aryl groups.
