PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress non-intended deformation that is likely to occur at a joint when flexible tubes are thermally welded to each other by high-frequency dielectric heating, and to prevent a reduction in flexibility of a junction and/or concentration of stress upon application of bending stress. SOLUTION: Shape-retaining members 3 of an insulator that intentionally form non-heating portions that resist heating and deformation in a high-frequency electric field are provided on both side faces of a mold 2 for a high-frequency dielectric heating electrode. It is thereby possible to suppress thermal deformation near a heating section of a tube 1 disposed between high-frequency dielectric heating electrodes. As a result, the tube 1 in an overlapped shape generates heat in a high-frequency AC electric field between the molds 2 under pressure, and flowing of resin when it is softened or molten is suppressed by the shape-retaining members 3. At the joint, since the outflow of the molten resin is suppressed, sufficient pressurization is achieved and therefore constriction is less likely to occur. Furthermore, it is possible to achieve a smooth shape to fit the shape of the electrode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
