PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing display base plates excellent in an adhesion property of adhering a front base plate and a rear base plate, preventing intruding of volatile organic components generated from sealing materials into a cell, and preventing a sealing material from deterioration caused by a plasma in a cell in PDPs; and to provide a display and a method for manufacturing the display. SOLUTION: The method for fixing display base plates by sealing and fixing base plates in which a circumference of a rear base plate 18 and that of a front base plate 16 of a display 10 are sealed, is composed of the steps of arranging a sealing material 12 of a reactive setting type on a place near an edge of the rear base plate 18 or the front base plate 16; arranging a barrier sealing material 14 inside the sealing material, press-bonding of press-bonding the rear base plate 18 and the front base plate 16; and curing of adhering the rear base plate 18 and the front base plate 16 by a reactive setting of the sealing material 12.
