PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device for a vehicle providing information attracting more attention for a route more familiar to a driver. SOLUTION: This information providing device mounted on the vehicle for providing information matching a travel condition of its own vehicle is provided with: a storage means storing a travel route for the own vehicle; a current position detection means detecting a current position of the own vehicle; a determination means calculating a current travel route for the own vehicle from the current position of the own vehicle detected by the current position detection means and referring the calculated current travel route to the travel route of the own vehicle stored in the storage means for determining whether a traffic frequency in the past for the current travel route is higher than a predetermined threshold; and an alarm means giving an alarm for attracting attention to careful driving from the vehicle driver if the traffic frequency in the past for the current travel route is higher than the predetermined threshold.
