PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-hung window which enables an outer sash to be easily built in a window frame. SOLUTION: Guide parts 7b of right and left sliding members 7 for the outer sash are provided in a vertically movable manner in outdoor-side vertical grooves which are provided in the right and left jambs 12 of the window frame; other ends of cables 5 are connected to cable connecting parts 7c of the right and left sliding members 7; the outer sash 3 is fixed to an outer-sash mounting part 7d, and constituted in such a manner as to move upward and downward along the vertical grooves of the jambs 12 via the right and left sliding members 7; right and left outer-sash stoppers 8 are attached to the right and left jambs 12, respectively; the right and left sliding members 7 abut on the right and left outer-sash stoppers 8, respectively, so as to regulate the lowermost position of the outer sash 3; and a horizontal gap is provided between one 30 of right and left end surfaces of the guide parts 7b of the sliding members 7 and one 31 of right and left inner surfaces of the outdoor-side vertical grooves, so that a protrusion, which is provided on the outer-sash stopper 8, can get into the gap when the sliding member 7 abuts on the outer-sash stopper 8.
