APPARATUS FOR DESILICONIZING MOLTEN PIG IRON, AND TILTING TROUGH FOR DESILICONIZING MOLTEN PIG IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for desiliconizing molten pig iron while suppressing the erosion at an outlet portion of the molten pig iron or at a dropping portion of the molten pig iron better than a conventional one, and to provide a tilting trough for the molten pig iron, which has improved durability because the apparatus can suppress the erosion at the dropping portion of the molten pig iron better than a conventional one. SOLUTION: The tilting trough 10 forms at least a side wall 60, which is the dropping portion of the molten pig iron, from an alumina-chromia-based refractory material. The desiliconizing apparatus also forms the head of the outlet portion for discharging the molten pig iron to the tilting chute 10 in a middle trough from an alumina-chromia-based refractory.
