PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and correct diagnostic method of an allergy disease. SOLUTION: This invention is related to a polypeptide useful for diagnosing egg allergy having an amino-acid sequence of Pro-Val-Cys-Gly-Thr-Asp-Gly-Val-Thr, Pro-Ile-Cys-Gly-Thr-Asp-Gly-Val-Thr, or Gly-Gly-Cys-Arg-Lys-Glu-Leu-Ala-Ala-Val. This invention is a screening method of a diagnostic product for an allergic disease, and this polypeptide has a specific IgE for the allergen of an allergic patient as a diagnostic object, and a specific IgE for both the amino-acid sequence (1) of the epitope recognized by the patient showing an allergic symptom and that of allergen of the allergic patient as a diagnostic object, and the polypeptide containing the amino-acid sequence (1) is selected by comparing with the amino-acid sequence (2) of the epitope recognized by IgE of a patient showing no allergic symptom.
