A terminal device for processing an SIP-based session and a method for transmitting/receiving a session negotiation request using the same are provided to specify a counterpart of a session negotiation request by forming one service as multiple sessions and simply process a response to a session negotiation request in the form of accept/reject of the counterpart. An origination processing unit(144) activates one or more sessions for providing a single service requested by a user and transmits a negotiation request of the activated session including a session mapping identifier indicating whether sessions are associated. A termination processing unit(146) maps one or more received session negotiation requests to corresponding service applications by using the session mapping identifiers included in each of the received session negotiation requests.
