PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column of a protecting body for a snowslide, a rock fall or the like capable of improving working efficiency at a work side accompanying excavation and easy in transportation and carry-in. SOLUTION: A column lower part 2S fixed to a slope Y is connected to a column upper part 2U arranged in an upper part of the column lower part 2S. An insertion part 21 smaller than the column 2 is arranged at the end of the column upper part 2U, and a receiving part 31 for inserting the insertion part 21 is arranged at the end of the column lower part 2S. The column upper part 2U and the column lower part 2S can be integrated by inserting and fixing the receiving part 31 to the insertion part 21. Since an external shape of the insertion part 21 is formed smaller than an external shape of the column 2, the receiving part 31 can also be miniaturized, and the column 2 does not become thick at a connecting part of the column lower part 2S and the column upper part 2U, and thus, an installation hole 71 for inserting the column 2 is not enlarged in diameter.
