PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus and a method capable of reducing the burden on a user. SOLUTION: This medical image processing apparatus is provided with an occlusion area detection section for detecting an occlusion area of an object image out of images of biotissue input from a medical capturing apparatus, and an occlusion complement section for complementing the occlusion area of the object image using information acquired from one or a plurality of non-object images, which are different from the object image and have at least parts of the area corresponding to the occlusion area of the object image.
