A system and a method for providing a PTT(Push-To-Talk) service of a mobile terminal in order to improve the convenience of a user by using the PTT service are provided to process voice data based on TCP/IP socket communication by automatically executing PTT application through SMS(Short Message Service) push message. A mobile terminal(110) comprises a terminal on a receiving side demanding the PTT service and one or more mobile terminal on a transmitting side requesting a PTT service. The mobile terminal interworking with an MSC(120) is connected to a PTT server(140) through packet network. An SMSC(130) transmits the SMS(Short Message Service) push message for executing the PTT application to the mobile terminal on a transmitting side within a calling group according to the request of the PTT service. A database(141) stores information so that the list of one or more destination mobile terminal is identical with one or more busy group.
