The machine (1) has a rotating shaft resting on two rolling bearings fixed on monolithic flanges (11, 12), and plate-shaped crossheads (14) fixed near a lower edge of the flanges. A pulley (2) is mounted on the shaft between the bearings, and a stator or rotor assembly with radial flux is arranged on a side of the bearings for driving the shaft in rotation. A stator has a raised cylinder head (36) fixed on the flange (11), and brakes (20, 21) e.g. disk brake with current scarcity, are arranged on the side of the bearings opposite to the stator or rotor assembly and fixed on the flange (12).
