A system for providing patient information and a method thereof are provided to offer basic information which including a inputted syllable and a word of the patient with additional information after inputting a syllable unit of a word unit of the patient through a input unit from a user. A system for providing patient information comprises the followings: a database(110) storing information of patient including basic information and additional information; a input unit(120) inputting a syllable unit of a word unit of the basic information by a user; a processor(130) forming a candidate list of basic information; and a display unit(140) showing the candidate list of basic information.
