PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stability of a shape of a flat part and enhance fitting to a wearer in a pair of side wall parts of an absorbent article. SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 has a nearly sheet-like main body part 2 and a pair of side wall parts 3 provided on both sides in a width direction of the main body part 2. Each side wall part 3 has a standing part 312 standing from the main body part 2 toward the wearer, a flat part 313 spreading outward in the width direction from the wearer in the standing part 312, and two elastic members 32a and 32b extended in a longitudinal direction and bonded to the flat part 313. In absorbent article 1, each side wall part 3 is closely attached to a skin of the wearer in the flat part 313, so that leakage of an excrement from the absorbent article 1 can be prevented. Additionally, in each side wall part 3, since the flat part 313 is thicker than the standing part 312, it is possible to improve stability of the shape of the flat part 313 and enhance fitting of the flat part 313 to the wearer.
