PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for adjusting brightness of a head-up display (HUD).SOLUTION: When a head-up display (HUD) 350 is implemented in a vehicle, a logarithmic forward looking sensor 380 is oriented to view light coming through a windshield. The logarithmic forward looking sensor interfacer 310 is configured to receive data or sensing information from the logarithmic forward looking sensor 380. An adjuster 320 adjusts brightness of the HUD 350 based on the information received via the interfacer 310.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
