PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input auxiliary device allowing a character input operation to be performed easily, certainly, and in a short time.SOLUTION: A character input auxiliary device 100 includes: a main body 10; a partition member 14 including at least one marginal region 20a and 20b disposed so as to have a step serving as a finger hook to a panel surface 12 of a touch panel; and a character icon display control unit 84 for displaying, on the panel surface 12, a plurality of first character icons 40 along the marginal region, and a second character icon 60 related to a selected selection first character icon 48.
