Boiler tubes 10, lining a combustion chamber wall, are embedded in a rammed mass 11 with a secondary rammed mass 12 of fireclay and silicone carbide filling the space between a wire mesh 13 and the mass 11, said wire mesh being held in position by studs 14 attached to the tubes 10, or by direct welding to the tubes 10 (see Fig. 1). The boiler tubes may be arranged in different planes (see Fig. 3) and the wire mesh may be embedded in the fireclay and silicone carbide mass 12. |
