A smokers' lighter is provided with a flint retaining device comprising a spring 3 having a leg 2 disposed in a slot 4 in a flint channel 5, the spring being guided around a bolt 9 which screws on to a casing 8 made of a plastics material, e.g. acetal resin or polyamide. A bush 16 is non-rotatably mounted on the bolt and has a slot 17 through which the leg of the spring extends. When the bolt is rotated an end of the slot 17 carries the leg away from the flint for flint replacement. |
