Merchandise labeling

A flat merchandising label is formed by flatly bonding tag 12 to a flexible elastic layer 16 which includes an integrated fastening loop 20. Bond zone 14 is not subject to the tension forces arising when fastening loop 20 is stretched, decreasing the necessary strength of the bond between flat tag 12 and elastic layer 16. When the label is affixed to merchandise tag 12 is not distorted, making it suitable for use with barcode labeling techniques.
