[Also in Division C3] A process for treating hair on a human head comprises applying to the hair a cosmetic preparation which contains a hydrophilic polymer or copolymer of a hydroxy alkyl (C 2 to C 3 ) or hydroxy alkoxy (C 2 to C 3 ) alkyl (C 2 to C 3 ) acrylate or methacrylate. The preparations may be in the form of solutions (e.g. in alcohol), gels, pastes, creams or aerosol sprays and may include additives such as perfumes or essences, polyhydric alcohol plasticisers, silicone oil, polysucrose acrylate, polyoxyethylenenonyl phenol condensate and acetylated polyethoxylated lanolin. Treatments which can be effected include straightening kinky hair, setting or waving hair, imparting sheen to hair, and cleansing hair. |
