<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus realizing the averaging of a read pattern density value optimum for usable memory capacity by eliminating a memory dedicated to automatically correcting gradation and sharing an automatic gradation correcting function with other memory for an image. <P>SOLUTION: When a mode recognition section 2 recognizes a gradation correction mode, the image memory is switched to the path of a density holding section for correcting gradation by a memory switching section 5, and ordinary processing by an image processing section 4 is not performed but averaging processing is performed by a read data averaging processing section 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
