In a machine for transporting eggs and separating the yolk from the white, parallel rows of eggs are fed onto a continuous conveyor arranged at right angles to the direction of movement of the eggs. Each egg is gripped by an individual gripper device mounted on the conveyor and removed to a station where the shell is broken. The egg yolk and white fall into an underlying cup which is provided with a hole so that the white may fall through into a funnel whilst the yolk is retained in the cup. |
