A looped fabric is produced from a plurality of threads fed side by side and connected together by the successive formation of loops in individual threads and interengagement of the loops of adjacent threads as they are formed to produce a loop fabric, one row of loops being completed before the next is started, each thread being associated with either a loop forming member or a thread guide cooperating with a common member to form loops. Thread guides may co-operate with an endless toothed belt, Fig. 3e, or a screw threaded member to form the fabric. Otherwise a row of pivoted members each carrying a yarn 1.1 may operate in succession to form the inter engaging loops. Yarns may be laid in. Fig. 11. |
