Prepn. esp. of edges and corners, of glass sheets for joining into assembles with a small layer of dry air between sealed plates, comprises (1) Jet burner nozzle applying heat to glass surface, (2) a heat insulating wall, (3) a rotating disc wire brush, (4) a burner applying a layer of copper and (5) a burner applying a layer of tin.
