1283068 Measuring rollers and so on DR JOHANNES HEIDENHAIN 28 July 1969 [27 July 1968] 37818/69 Headings G1M and G1N Electrical sensors 16, 17 engaging a pre-heated roller 10 and a reference surface 18 respectively are moved by a rope drawn carriage 21 along the roller so that variations of the distance between the sensors 16, 17 are converted to output voltages which are equalized by voltage dividers 57, 58 and fed via conductors a and b to relays 66-71, Fig.9, the relays being sequentially operated by an electronic counter receiving impulses from a rotary impulse transmitter 46 at particular position of the roller 10. The signals from the relays are fed to a known recorder 45 and recorded on a paper strip. The whole apparatus is screened by a highly reflecting or insulated heat shield 14 supplied with conditioned air and provided with a longitudinally extending seal, Figs. 4, 5 comprising a guard plate 30 over curved flexible bands or lips of steel or P.T.F.E. protected at their ends by cover-plates 27 and enclosing an ensiform sleeve 28 containing the probe 16. In Fig. 7 plastics or rubber lips 35, 36 sealed at their ends by coverplates 40 are provided. The apparatus of Fig. 1 may also be used to perform circularity measurements on the roller 10. In Fig.10 (not shown) the gauging apparatus is suspended over and contacts the roller (100). |
