1340185 Elevated flooring ARI PROPAFLOR Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 March 1970] 12582/70 Heading E1W [Also in Division B5] An elevated floor comprises square panels 10 supported at their corners on props 46, each panel consisting of a square wooden frame 18 faced with upper and lower sheets of plywood 12, 14, the upper sheet 12 being thicker than the lower. The space between the sheets may contain a cardboard honeycomb material 30, foam plastics 32, a glass module material 34 or a number of wooden spacing blocks 36, and wooden stiffeners 24 are also provided. A floor covering of e.g. carpet may be fixed on the upper sheet 12, and the lower sheet 14 may be covered with a sheet of asbestos and an outer layer of steel or of an alloy foil. Corner brackets 50 of, e.g. plastics may be fixed to the panels to locate them on the props, or edge angle irons 52 may be employed. An extruded plastics sealing strip may be located in a milled edge groove 60. |
