PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the end part of a fixing unit from being heated by passing narrow sheets continuously. SOLUTION: In a printer having a fixing unit where the non-sheet passing part at the end of the fixing unit is heated more than required when a large quantity of narrow sheets is printed continuously to cause intermittent print operation, when a wide sheet print job is received after narrow sheet print jobs are registered continuously, processing order of the received wide sheet print job is advanced thus inserting the wide sheet job between the narrow sheet jobs. Since continuous print of narrow sheets is avoided, print processing can be carried out without lowering the print speed. |
