PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high safety to a human body in low cost when an image forming apparatus having a laser scanner is opened by a method wherein an operation of detecting open or close of an openable cover is surely cooperated with an operation of blocking laser light from the laser scanner. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises the laser scanner having an image information light emitting means for emitting laser light, a laser shutter which is of a means for blocking laser light on an as-needed basis, and the openable cover which is openably provided to the mainframe of the image forming apparatus. The laser shutter integrally has functions of an open/ close operation detecting means for the openable cover and a laser light blocking means. |
