A method for the rapid coating of activated metals, glass, ceramics, plastics with a Co containing ferromagnetic layer by dippig into a bath cont. cobalt ions, hydrazine sulphate (reducing agent), complexing agent (oxy or amino carboxylic acids) and molybdate ions. Hard Co alloy coatings are produced rapidly for the prodn. of mag. tapes etc.
