PURPOSE: A method for an electronic payment using an ARS(automatic response system) is provided to pay a rental fee being levied in an Internet charged site simply and conveniently using an automatic response system of a telephone. CONSTITUTION: A user who wishes to perform an Internet electronic payment connects to an electronic billing server and opens a member account. The user connects to an ARS system using a registered telephone number and inputs a member number and a password for collecting a rental fee in advance. If is judged whether the currently connected telephone number is identified with a pre-registered telephone number. If the currently connected telephone number is identified with a pre-registered telephone number, a rental fee by one connection is transferred to an account managing system through a deposit gateway. The corresponding depositing money is accumulated in a cyber account of the user. If the user uses charged contents, the balance of user account and charged contents usage available information are exchanged through a TCP/IP connection between the electronic billing server of a billing system and a CP/ISP server or a socket communication between each DB server. Also, a corresponding rental fee is extracted from the cyber account of the user and transferred to the CP or the ISP through a payment gateway.
