Pile yarn 2 is fed by rollers 3, 4 so it abuts and is bowed by a wall 6 of a passage 11, it is then severed by a reciprocating blade 8 which feeds the cut pile 12 down the passage 11 where a belt 15 embeds it into plastics material 17 carries on a belt 13. The belt 15 may travel at the same or different speed to the belt 13 to produce fabric having a straight or inclined pile. More than one pair of rollers 3, 4 may be utilised to feed separate sheets of yarn of different colours.</p> |
