PURPOSE: Provided are an electrostatic charge image developing toner, a method for producing such toner, and an image forming method and an image forming apparatus utilizing such toner. The toner allows uniform design of toner characteristics such as chargeability, flowability, stability in time, environmental stability etc. among the toner of different colors including black color. CONSTITUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing toner comprises at least a colorant of which at least a part thereof is covered with polyhydroxyalkanoate constituting a first resin component, and binder resin constituting a second resin component. The image forming apparatus using the toner includes unit for externally applying a voltage to a charging member, unit for forming an electrostatic charge image on the charged electrostatic latent image bearing member, development unit for developing the electrostatic charge image with electrostatic charge image developing toner, transfer unit for transferring the toner image on the electrostatic latent image bearing member onto a recording material, and fixation unit for heat fixing the toner image on the recording material.
