PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system capable of appropriately performing a failure diagnosis of a sensor or the like. SOLUTION: An abnormality detection part 44 performs an abnormality detection process based on an output of the sensor. A normal control part 41 variably sets a target rotational speed of an electric motor 27 based on the output of the sensor. A fail control part 42 sets a fixed target rotational speed. A selecting part 43 selects and outputs the target rotational speed from the normal control part 41 when no abnormality is detected, and selects and outputs the target rotational speed from the fail control part 42 when the abnormality is detected. An abnormality detection stop part 45 watches a state of a battery voltage, an engine rotation signal, an alternator signal and an ignition switch. If a state disabling appropriate abnormality detection of the abnormality detection part 44 is detected, the abnormality detection stop part 45 prohibits the abnormality detection of the abnormality detection part 44. |
