1,258,472. Labelling machine. H. KRONSEDER. 13 March, 1969 [15 March, 1968], No. 13225/69. Heading B8F. [Also in Division F2] Labels are removed from a magazine 19 by planetary transfer members 7 which are rotated about their own axes with a variable speed. Each member 7 is mounted on a rotatable drum 5 and is fast with a gear 30 meshing a gear 37 rotatably mounted on a lever 31 which is rockable about a pivot 26 on the drum under the control of a follower 32 in a stationary cam groove 33. The gear 37 is fast with a gear 36 meshing a gear 29 of intermeshing planets 29, 28, the gear 28 meshing a stationary sum 27. The members 7 are thus rotated, rocking movements of the levers varying their speed of rotation relative to the drum. The transfer members 7 are glued prior to the their extracting a label by a gluing band (not shown) and support rollers 9 (which preferably comprise a plurality of discs 10) are provided on the drum between each pair of transfer members 7 and serve to maintain the gluing band tensioned. The rollers 9 are mounted on levers and are spring urged inwardly of the drum out of contact with the label stack, and are moved outwardly to tension the gluing band by a stationary cam associated with the band. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,129,822. |
