<p>1287191 Separating apparatus; hydrocyclones BAUER BROS CO 14 Jan 1970 [15 Jan 1969] 1823/70 Headings B1D and B2P Used machine tool coolant enters tank (4) along a wide inlet formed by hopper 5 so as to spread across the tank allowing heavy solids to sink to the floor, pump unit (16), 17 draws coolant and unsettled solids from above the floor at one end of the tank and delivers them to hydrocyclones 26, connected in parallel and arranged to return concentrated solids to the tank via a hopper 31 and to discharge clean coolant at 30, the concentrated light solids then settling in tank (4) and an endless conveyor 13, 23 moving all the settled solids along the tank floor and up ramp (19) at the opposite end. The conveyor comprises a central chain 13 driven by motor 15 and carrying blades 23, each of which is scraped clean by biassed blade (22) as it clears the top of ramp (19) to discharge the solids (Fig. 1, not shown). Pump (16) has its inlet above another ramp (18) clear of the conveyor, where no heavy solids will settle. The level in tank (4) may be maintained by pump (16) being floatcontrolled.</p> |
