<p>The PVC polymers or copolymers contg. =20 wt.% of other monomers have good mechanical values but can be easily worked. They are obtd. by suspension polymsn. of the monomers under usual conditions but in presence of a soft component. The soft component consists of (a) polymers of acrylic or vinyl esters and (b) polymethylmethacrylates. The component is added as an aq. dispersion, which contains mixts. of (a) + (b), or graft copolymers of monomeric (a) on polymer (b) or vice-versa, or mixts. of graft copolymers with (a) and/or (b). The component must contain >=5% polymeric vinyl or acrylic ester and >=4% polymethylmethacrylates.</p> |
