PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and highly precisely read a bar code with any dirt of thin spot. SOLUTION: This optical reader is constituted of an image sensor for optically reading an image constituted of binary pixels, an A/D converter for converting an analog signal from the image sensor into a digital signal, a storage means for temporarily storing the digital signal from the A/D converter as image data, a binarizing means for binarizing each pixel constituting the image data based on a prescribed threshold, a deciding means for processing the binary image data in which when the value or each binary pixel is changed from one value to the other value, and then the changed value consecutively indicates the same value equal to or over the prescribed number, the value is defined as a normal value, and when the changed value is returned to the original value again equal to or under the prescribed number, the value is regarded as a noise, and the value before change is maintained, and an interface means for transmitting the binary image data processed by the deciding means to an external device. |
