PURPOSE: Provided is a preparation method of high activity titania(TiO2, anatase) whisker for photocatalysts, sensors and pollutants removal by treating sodium titanate whisker obtained from hydrothermal reaction with boiling water and HCl for sodium elution. CONSTITUTION: The titania(TiO2, anatase) whisker powder is prepared by the following steps: (i) treating sodium titanate(Na2Ti6O13) obtained from hydrothermal reaction with boiling water at 200deg.C for 24hrs in autoclave for elution of Na+ ions, and drying; (ii) treating dried powder from the step (i) with 0.5M HCl at 110deg.C for 48hrs by using a refluxing apparatus for elution of remained Na+ions. The resultant TiO2 whisker has 3-5micrometer length and 300-40nm diameter. |
