<p>The fastener for jewellery has two different sized cylindrical elements (1, 2) which telescope together. At one end of each element, there is a ring (5, 6) to fix it to the jewellery and projecting edges to assist in manipulating the fastener. The male element (1) has a round knob (7) which fits into a groove (8) in the female element (2). The groove is bent at right angles so that the male element has to be turned when it is put into the female element. The female element houses a coil spring (9), held by projections (10), which hold the knob in the end of the groove.</p> |
