Delayed firing mechanism for self-propelled projectiles - permits discharge of flares in perfect safety from own packages

A self-propelling projectile, esp. for an illuminating or signalling flare of medium power can be fired from its packing without any other means of projection. There is complete security for the user, a delaying fuse being fixed to the support for the projectile, which ignites the propellant after a predetermined lapse of time. There is a hammer for the delaying fuse and an arming lever which is locked in the armed position to hold the hammer. Arming lever and hammer pivot on a support under spring-loading and are held in position by a locking pin which is pulled out by the user who has time for aligning.
