Log drive for bark stripping machine - has pneumatic tyred wheels relatively displaced by air cylinder operated cable and swinging arms

The drive is used for rotating a log in a bark stripping machine and comprises several pneumatic tyred wheels positioned each side of a central axis. These rest on the log which is rotated by a separate belt drive, and are coupled together by swinging arms. The arms pivot in brackets fitted to the machine frame and these brackets are linked to a cable which is connected to an air cylinder. The movements of this cylinder raise and lower the arms, to open and close the wheels contacting the rotating log.
