Bales are picked up from the ground, and collected in a stack to form a wall to be pushed onto the load bed of the trailer. The courses of the load are built up in steps at succeeding levels. By displacing each row a vertical bale wall is formed at the loading surface height unloading is effected by lowering in steps.
