<p>PURPOSE:To make the order of priority to select plural paper feeding parts determinable according to the state of a copying machine, by installing a device judging the loading of a cassette and the presence of paper, a specifying device for paper size and a selective device altogether, in case of a setting method of an initial value for paper size selection in time of turning on the power for the copying machine and/or in time of automatic resetting after copying being over. CONSTITUTION:In a paper feeder capable of loading plural cassettes, each of devices 3-1-3-8 and 4-1-4-2 judging the loading of a cassette and the presence of paper and each of devices 5-1-5-5 specifying paper size in advance are all installed. At a device 2, when the paper size cassette specified by the said specifying device is loaded inside, the abovementioned cassette is selected in time of turning on the power and/or in time of copying being over. With this constitution, in times of turning on the power and/or getting through the copying, the most numerous paper size in terms of service frequency by a user in times of turning on the power and/or getting through the copying can be selected providing it enters either the upper step or the lower one so that this paper feeder is efficienct indeed. Moreover, according to user's requests, it also has a function capable of setting the desired paper size.</p> |
