PURPOSE:To save energy, by providing a pneumatic cylinder controller which comprises the pneumatic circuit and the electric circuit for driving the pneumatic cylinder, and which can be controlled to stop the wasteful supply of the pressurized air at the end of the piston. CONSTITUTION:In a pneumatic cylinder controller which drives a load 105 by actuating a cylinder 103, two pairs of two-port solenoid valves 160, 161 and 162, 163 are arranged in the pneumatic circuit lines extending from an air source 105 to the two chambers 114, 115 of cylinder. The inlet ports 153, 157 of the solenoid valves 161, 163 are connected to the outlet ports 152, 156 of the solenoid valves 160, 162, whereas the outlet ports 154, 158 of the solenoid valve 161, 163 are connected to the outside air respectively. Then, after the piston 104, i.e. the load 105 is moved to the left by opening the solenoid valve 160, 163 the solenoid valves 160, 163 are closed and simultaneously the solenoid valves 161, 162 are opened. Consequently, the load 105 is moved to the right, and thus the system is operated in this manner.
