PURPOSE:To obtain fine polymer particles of a high gel fraction, by polymerizing a vinyl monomer in a poor solvent for the formed polymer in the presence of a dispersant and intramolecularly crosslinking the formed polymer by a reaction of the tert. amino groups in the polymer with its epoxy groups. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl monomer essentially consisting of a tert. amino group- containing compound (e.g., dimethylaminoethyl acrylate) and an epoxy group- containing compound (e.g., glycidyl acrylate) is polymerized in an organic solvent in which the formed polymer is not soluble (e.g., hexane) in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer (e.g., polybutadiene/styrene graft copolymer). The formed polymer is intramolecularly crosslinked by a reaction of the tert. amino groups in the polymer with its epoxy groups to obtain the purpose fine polymer particles comprising crosslinked nondispersed polymer.
