PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image storage and distribution device and a distribution system which can distribute proper medical images through a communication line together with property data. SOLUTION: The medical image storage and distribution device 2 which has 1st memory means 10 and 17 stored with medical images D1 captured by a medical image equipment 5 and can distribute the stored medical images to an external terminal display device 22 through the communication line 21 is provided with a 2nd memory means 13 which stores the compressibility C1 of the medical images D1 by the kinds K1 of the medical image equipment and the capture positions K2 of the medical images; and a medical image requested to be distributed is compressed with the compressibility corresponding to the kind K1 and position K2 and distributed through the communication line. On the side of a terminal 22 the medical image D1 can be distributed with compressibility causing no trouble of the resolution through the communication line and the medical image D1 can be transferred fast and provided accurately.
