PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plate surface finishing device for cutting and finishing the surface of an upside surface plate and a downside surface plate by a tool into a predetermined flat shape, to regulate the inclination of a horizontal movement of the tool rest by a inclination regulating mechanism, and to finish the surface of the upside surface plate and the downside surface into the predetermined flat shape. SOLUTION: This surface plate surface finishing device is provided with a guide mechanism 10 with which a tool rest 9 on which a tool 31 is mountable in a vertical direction is horizontally movable and guidable in a radial direction of an upside surface plate and a downside surface, a moving mechanism 11 which reciprocates the tool rest 9, a turning mechanism 12 which vertically rotatable on the tool rest 9, and a controlling mechanism 13 which can regulate the inclination of a horizontal movement of the tool rest 9. |
