PURPOSE:To enable excellent positive electrostatic charge impartation and the formation of a sharp color toner image with a triboelectrostatic charging member which imparts the required charge to a toner by coming into contact with the toner by having a specific metal salt of indole carboxylic acid and metal salt of quinoline carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:The triboelectrostatic charge imparting member which is capable of stably imparting the excellent positive chargeability and of forming the sharp color image is obtd. if said member is so formed as to have at least one kind of the metal salt of the indole carboxylic acid expressed by the formula I and the metal salt of the quinoline carboxylic acid expressed by the formula II on the surface. In the formulas, R1, R2: hydrogen atom, alkyl group of 1-8C or alkoxy group; R3: hydrogen atom or alkyl group of 1-8C; M: metal atom selected from Zn, Cr, Co, Ni, and Fe. |
